Pride and Prejudice
We came across a funding stream called ‘Ecominds’ and began to develop a vision for a new project. Ecominds is run by National Mind as an award partner of the Big Lottery Fund, as part of their Changing Spaces Programme. Grants are used to support people with experience of mental distress. We wanted to focus on the positive aspects of mental health and proactive ways of reducing mental distress, which are about engaging in day-to-day life and making a difference for yourself and your community.
Pride & Prejudice was an exciting short-term project based in Plymouth. The project worked with people to get involved in local environmental projects that also improved their mental and physical health.
Colebrook Housing Society, working in partnership with Plymouth Involvement and Participation Service (PIPS), was awarded £18,086 for the Pride & Prejudice Project, which took place between September 2010 and September 2011.
At the end of the project we produced a book, which gives details and information the Pride & Prejudice year and the sites worked on. Please click Here to download a copy.
