HELPING ORGANISATIONS

Opportunity Knocks Timebank

Administration: the Timebank needs volunteers to help with general admin e.g. printing and folding leaflets, photocopying, post and the newsletter.

Steering group: we want the Timebank to be run for members by members so if you think you would like to support the direction of the Opportunity Knocks Timebank by attending regular meetings contact us now.

Promotion: we want everyone to know about the Timebank and need your help to get the word out there. This could be done through leaflet distribution or attendance at local events.

Access for All Work Club – a joint venture between Colebrook and Open Doors

Steering group: the work club is currently looking for new steering group members. The steering group meets regularly to manage the direction and organisation of the work club. The opportunity is open to all so if you think you could help the group get in touch.

Work Club volunteers: the work club meets weekly on Friday afternoons, 1pm – 4pm, at Onward House. The work club is looking for volunteers to be on hand to help and support those looking for work (e.g. help with CVs, applying for jobs, searching for jobs etc.)

Carers Champions

Events: if you enjoy meeting people you can help out the Carers Champions team by attending local events to promote the service.

Carer drop-in’s: these are weekly sessions open to adult carers and take place in the City Centre, Crownhill and Plympton. These sessions provide practical and emotional support and information to carers. Volunteers are always welcome to help out at these sessions.

Events: there is scope for a range of skills here. For example, help is needed to plan events in the park and the local community and volunteers are required to help out on event days.

Music: if you have a passion for music there are several music projects that you could become involved with.

HELPING INDIVIDUALS

DIY/Decorating: if you could help with basic DIY and painting get in touch. We have Timebank members who would really appreciate the help.

Gardening: help with weeding, watering plants, and mowing the lawn have all been requested by Timebank members so if you want to help let us know.

Guitar lessons: a Timebank member is keen to learn how to play the guitar so if you already play and could give some time to teach someone else give us a call.
