Management Committee
The voluntary Management Committee has a broad membership, including clients, who ensure effective governance of Colebrook Housing Society. The Management Committee meets 8-10 times a year and the Annual General Meeting is held in September of each year.
We are currently looking to recruit new client members and members with a legal, property or diversity background.
Management Committee Membership profiles:
Trevor Paul – Chair
Trevor has been involved since July 2001. He is the Lead Manager of Community Therapy Services, Learning Disability Service at Scott Business Park. Therefore Trevor is able to bring much experience to the Management Committee and the Society.
Lynne Lang – Vice Chair
Lynne became a Committee member in March 2000. Lynne initially assisted the Society’s Finance Officer in setting up the computerised accounting package and was later invited to join the committee. Lynne owns a Finance Services business.
Eileen Marshall – Secretary
Eileen joined Colebrook Housing Society in 1984 as Secretary to the Management Committee and took minutes and typed any letters that were needed. She was also involved in officially setting up the Society as a Company and became Company Secretary during this process. As Colebrook grew, so did the secretarial work and Eileen typed documents at home as there was no official office until about 1989. Eileen eventually retired, and was then invited to join the Management Committee as one of the Trustees.
Betty Gray – Committee Member
Betty joined the committee in April 2005; she is a retired District Nurse / Nursing Officer and Manager. Since retiring in 1995 Betty has volunteered for various projects in her local area and is also Chairman of the City of Plymouth Credit Union. She is on the board of 1 local nursery, a governor of a primary school. Many of Betty’s skills are transferable and she hopes they will be of use to the residents, staff and the Committee.
Gary Sargent – Committee Member
Gary is the Support and Recovery Manager based at the Glenbourne Unit, working with resettlement and is the lead person in the work on the support time recovery worker model. Prior to this he had been with the Supporting People Team for 5 years.

Margaret Garcia – Committee Member
Margaret Garcia joined the committee at the end of 2008. She manages a hotel in the City for the Accor group.
Md Salah U Ullah – Co-optee
Sal joined the Committee in March 2007. Sal started as an observer before being co‑opted. He has been a Colebrook resident since November 2005. Sal is a student at the City College Plymouth. He is studying mathematics, English and IT to gain a recognised qualification to enable him to develop some new skills and confidence which may lead to other courses and future employment.

Mike Tozer – Co-optee
Mike is a Director of Yourway, a private provider that offers people with a learning disability a range of services including supported living, short breaks and enabling. Prior to this he had been with the DOVE Project as their supported living manager’.
Simon Love – Co-optee
Simon joined the Committee in October 2009. His background is in youth work and he ran a youth club in the South Hams and worked for Plymouth Youth Offending Team for a number of years. He is currently doing befriending with MIND, sits on the Steering Group for PIPS (Plymouth Involvement and Participation Service) and is involved with training Social Work students with the University of Plymouth.
Jackie Seymour
Jackie Seymour joined the Committee in January 2009. She has 15 years experience in Human Resources, and is currently the HR Advisor at University College Plymouth St Mark & St John.
